Design Verification Engineer with a UK O&G Consultancy
Hi, I would like to ask whether it is now a good time to invest in small O&G companies which are acquiring onshore assets in companies other than the USA. A couple of interesting opportunities I have noted include the New Zealand based Mosman Oil and Gas, and UK based Union Jack Oil. Purely as examples, these companies are raising capital with the aim to start producing in 2016 from small fields which they have recently acquired. Is this a great investment opportunity with your estimates of the oil price increasing from next year? Or is this too risky right now? I guess their breakeven costs are going to play a big part in this…
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know what type of new permitting issues on the (operations side), that might hinder the industry from reaching that “light at the end of the tunnel” sooner on both state and federally regulated levels, versus past issues. Also, which state(s) has been the easiest/most difficult to obtain permits from, if companies have been in the position to drill or re-complete?

I would be interested in learning about redevelopment of mature oil fields that have been neglected or abandoned. Heard a little bit about small producers targeting this area in the industry.

What are you thoughts on a traditional MBA program versus a specific “Energy MBA” type degree. A MS usually and not MBA for letter sake if your into letters after names.
Here is one which I am looking at.
I am still working in the upstream service side during these times and would like to better myself so when we come out of these times I am smarter, stronger, and faster for myself, family, and company.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Director of Professional Relationships with Birch Operating System
This is my exact position in business right now. My company is newer to the oil and gas industry. We have developed several software and hardware solutions for the E&P section of the industry. We are growing based on word of mouth and our sales force out in the field which we couldn’t be happier with. My question is with market growth going forward-how does a smaller service or goods provider establish relationships with larger operators or other operators where no reputation or relationship exists? Vendor/Approved Supplier Lists? Expos? Also, if you have time if you could please touch on the best practices within them.
Whats the best way to use an oil and gas conference to secure business. Not generate leads but actually close deals.
